Meet me….

Welcome to Halfmoon and Hide, named after the saddlers halfmoon knife and obviously the English hides I use.

I started my journey at Cordwainers College which was located in Hackney, London in 1990 doing a 2 year saddlery & leather goods course.

Leaving there I worked for various Master Saddlers part time.              Harley Equestrian, Northants,   Mangan & Webb saddlers, Stow-on-the -Wold and Ken Langford, Abingdon as well as building my own little client base.

I moved down to Devon in 2020 and Hoopers Equestrian was created. As a now Master Saddler myself and a Qualified saddle fitter I’m out on the road Monday to Thursday seeing clients, checking and adjusting their saddles.

Friday - Sunday I’m in the workshop either doing the equestrian repairs, making for Halfmoon or at a show. So it’s pretty full on at the moment.

Having the skills to create beautiful hand sewn English leather goods that could be passed to children & grandchildren is something I’m very proud to have and its an absolute pleasure to be able to bring a little touch of luxury to your home and lifestyle.
